Why does BYKI work?

Our free BYKI software downloads for Windows and Mac include more than a dozen lists of words and phrases with full learning functionality, images for many cards, and native speaker sound for all of them. They are not time or session limited and can be used forever. While the free version of BYKI is fantastic, there are great reasons to upgrade to Before You Know It Deluxe.

System Requirements:

The system requirements to run BYKI on your computer or hand held device are outlined below. All languages require at least the minimum requirements described for each platform. Certain languages have additional requirements. These are described under Special Requirements By Language.

Windows

Basic Requirements: Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or higher, or XP; 64 MB available RAM; 30 MB disk space for one language; sound card; speakers; support for High Color or True Color settings and at least 800 x 600 resolution; Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher.

Special Requirements by Language: Hebrew requires Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher.

Macintosh

Basic Requirements: OS X version 10.3.9 or higher with Safari; G3 or better; 128 MB available RAM; 35 MB disk space for one language (approximately 15 MB additional space per additional language); support for Thousands of Colors setting and at least 800 X 600 resolution.

Special Requirements by Language: Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, and Tagalog require OS X version 10.4 or higher.

PocketPC

Basic Requirements: Pocket PC 2002 or better; 200 MHz StrongARM or Xscale Processor; 7 MB available device memory for 320x240, 7.5 MB available device memory for 640x480; ActiveSync 3.5 or higher.

Special Requirements by Language: Chinese requires an additional 1860 KB for language support. Japanese requires an additional 1600 KB for language support.

Languages NOT supported on PocketPC: Armenian, Azerbaijani, Bulgarian, Croatian, Indonesian, Korean, Macedonian, Norwegian, Turkmen, Uzbek, and Vietnamese.

Palm Basic Requirements: Palm OS 5 or better; support for 8–bit color; 1900 KB available device memory; HotSync 4.0 or higher.

Special Requirements by Language: None.
